Audi R8 competition at the LA motor show

The present Audi R8 is more than seven years old, as well as with a new version just around the corner, the German vehicle maker has shown one last restricted edition at the LA motor show – set to be the most interesting design yet.
The Audi R8 competition gets an additional 20bhp over the already potent 542bhp R8 V10 Plus, in addition to carbon ceramic brakes as well as a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. That makes it great for 0-60mph in just 3.2 seconds, as well as enables it to hit a top speed of 199mph.

Only 60 Audi R8 competition cars and trucks will be made, which will all go directly to the US. If you online over here, you’ll have to make do with the ‘standard’ V10 plus – or wait on the all-new R8 due next year.
In terms of styling, the R8 competition takes motivation from the R8 LMS race car, featuring lightweight carbon fibre outlining as well as a lower front splitter. There’s a huge carbon wing on the back, in addition to a set of gloss black wheels as well as gloss black exhaust pipes.
It’s essentially a US-spec version of the R8 LMX, which can’t be offered in all us specifies on account of regulations against the clever laser headlights.

Scott Keogh, President, Audi of America, said: “The limited-edition Audi R8 competition is the closest road vehicle to our R8 LMS ultra race vehicle that has won virtually every race around the world.”
All 60 us cars and trucks will be offered with the Audi special programme, with purchasers able to specify private interiors as well as exteriors from a long listing of colours as well as trim options.
Order books will open soon, although costs are yet to be revealed. The very first clients should take shipment early next year, simple months before the new R8 design is exposed at the Geneva motor Show.
