The Coolest automobile films

films featuring fast and furious
cars have always been a popular choice for adventure seekers and thrill
junkies. There’s nothing better than sitting in the film theatre viewing your
favorite automobiles seemingly fit perfectly in your favorite movies. here are some of
the coolest automobile films ever made:

10. The Dark Knight (2008)

The Dark Knight is not your common racing movie; however, it
does feature a few exotic cars. The Lamborghini Murcielago (which implies bat in
Spanish) roadster is the star of the film as the “Bat Mobile.” Unfortunately,
Bruce Wayne ends up crashing this prized Lamborghini in the film *spoiler*. Do
not fear, he comes back with vengeance in The Dark Knight Rises driving
an Aventador LP 700-4! how can we not feature this film in the top 10 with
cars like these?

9. Smokey and the
Bandit (1977)

Similarly, to #10, Smokey and the
Bandit isn’t your common racing movie. However, how can you not include
the film that features the well-known black and gold Pontiac Trans Am? The movie
is about a mission to smuggle beer from Georgia to Texas and back and the Trans
Am was driven by Burt Reynold’s character Bo Daville the “Bandit.” There is
still some argument whether the Trans Am was a 1977 or a 1976, but there is no
mistaking the model! After the premier of this classic film, Trans Am sales
nearly doubled!

8. Dukes of
Hazzard (2005)

This comedy film was based on a television series with the same name. the most well-known car in the film and TV show was the orange 1969 Dodge charger with “01” painted on both doors named “General Lee.” The film also included other classic automobiles like the 1967 Dodge Coronet, 1976 Cadillac Eldorado, 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM, 1977 Chevrolet Corvette C3, and much more!

7. Grease (1978)

This classic love story musical is no
racing movie, but it does feature some pretty amazing cars. one of the main characters,
Danny Zuko (John Travolta), drove a candy apple red 1949 Dodge Wayfarer. While
the “Pink Ladies” drove a ’42 Studebaker commander Regal with a pink paint job.
However, the most distinct care driven in the film would have to be the black
1949 Mercury customized complete with yellow flames, flam-shooting tailpipes, and
sharp serrated blades sticking out from the hubcaps.

6. baby chauffeur (2017)

This
movie features a teen named “Baby” who happens to be a prodigiously talented
getaway driver. baby drives a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STI to escape from the
authorities. The WRX Sedan houses a 2.5-liter turbo boxer engine that makes the
car look like the automobile is on steroids as it zooms through the streets on the
screen.

5. need For speed (2014)

This
thriller film left you on the edge of your seat! Not only did this movie
premier in theatres and bring in $203.3 million,  it featured some amazing cars! According to Screenrant.com, “In less
than six months, 15 super automobiles were reproduced for this movie.” In this
list included everything from a 1966 Pontiac GTO to a BGugatti Veyron Super
Sport.

4. automobiles 1, automobiles 2, and automobiles 3

No
car film list would be complete without a shout out to Lightening McQueen, the
lead automobile in the Pixar film, Cars. This automobile film franchise of three
movies (Cars 1, automobiles 2 and automobiles 3) brought in a whopping $588.4 million
total to the box office. Although the characters are cartoons, the movie
features wonderful cars like a 996-series Porsche 911 Carrera and the
“Fabulous Hudson Hornet,” one of the most well-known NASCAR stock automobiles in the
history of the sport.

3. Drive (2011)

This
movie features Ryan Gosling as a skilled stuntman who works as a trip driver
for criminals.  Drive contained several
classic automobiles including a 1973 Cheverolet Chevelle Malibu, a 1967 Oldsmobile
Cutlass, 1967 Plymouth road Runner and a 1955 For Thunderbird.

2. Gone in 60 seconds (2000)

Gone in 60 seconds brought in a enormous $237.2 million to the
box office in the year 2000. This thriller was about a automobile thief that is forced
to steal 50 luxury cars in one night in purchase to save his brother’s life.
The automobiles that were stolen are renowned and played major roles in the film like
the rest of the cast. A few amazing automobiles featured included the 68 Shelby Mustang
GT, Aston Martin DB1, Ferrari Daytona and Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost.

1. fast and Furious Franchise

Of
course, top goes to the fast and Furious franchise. Honestly, half of
the list could have been given to fast and Furious 1, 2, 3… etc. However, in
fairness, we just chose to lump them together in one. The fast and Furious is
a media franchise mostly centered around illegal street racing. In total, this
massive franchise took in a whopping $5.1 Billion in the box office worldwide.
The films featured much more automobiles than we can list but two of our favorite exotic
cars are the 2013 W Motors Lykan Hypersport and the 2010 Koenigsegg CCX-R.
